Usually, when a person’s significant other dies, they place the dead in a box for a long time until all that's left of himis his bones. Coffins are probably the central and the most symbolic item in any funerals today. Every member of the familywould probably want to give a wonderful  ‘bed’ to their loved one when they died and when those departed have lived a very meaningful life when they were still alive, wouldn’t you want to still provide them comfort when they die? This thing could be their final statement after they pass away.

Types

There are various types of materials that can be used for the creation of the coffins. And although the most commonly used is the wood type, there are also other types that one could choose from such as that made of a metal and/ or fiberglass. One can also go green and use the biodegradable ones as well.

1.  Wood

The wood type comes in different kinds. One is the solid hardwood that is made entirely from a solid wood that is usually from the same tree species. Another one is the wood laminates which are made possible by gluing a very thin layer of wood of a superior grain to that of an inferior wood. The last is the artificial laminates that are created just by combining the superimposed layers of different kinds of materials and the uppermost layer is made from a photo-reproduction that then represents a finish wood grain.

2.  Metal

The metal types are usually sold according to its gauge. And just like the gauge’s of the needles used in the hospital setting, the higher number of the gauge of the metal, the thinner the metal is to be used. The metal is usually a stainless steel that is a combination of a steel, carbon and chromium. However, aside from a stainless steel, one could also use the non-ferrous metal type of copper and bronze.

3.  Fiberglass

The fiberglass type is a very light yet strong material. This type could also have different types of finishes that includes paint, faux wood grain and faux marble.

4.  Biodegradable

There are a lot of subcategories for this type and one is the Ecopod which is only made from recycled newspapers and 100% of mulberry pulp. The next is the basket or the wicker type which is made from the willow plant. One could also choose the Wollen type, the one that is made from a British sheep wool and its frame is made from a recycled cardboard. The last is the Banana Leaf type which is made by weaving together the banana leaves.

Aside from the types mentioned above, one could also choose something different, out of the box, extraordinary and individualized. In other words, you can now choose a unique and personalized bed for your significant other that has already left and this kind of coffins is already having a very big effect on the marketplace today.

There’s only one thing that everyone should remember. These should be created in the smallest size possible. Having this in mind will not only reduce the size of the grave excavation but also improves the safety margins and reduce the overall weight that is carried by the bearer’s.
